We offer great teeth whitening options, accomplished in the office or at home.

Teeth naturally darken with age; however staining may be caused by various foods and beverages such as coffee, tea, and wine. Some drugs such as tetracycline and mouth rinses can be factors. Smoking and trauma to your teeth are causes that are more obvious.

Whitening

Having a beautiful smile may be even easier than you think. Many people achieve the look they have been dreaming of with our simple “whitening” procedures.

As time goes by, our teeth lose their natural brightness and appear aged. Like fine china, teeth become dull and stained from a variety of factors including tobacco, drinking coffee, dark soft drinks, red wine or tea. This is where teeth whitening comes in. Modern technology offers us teeth whitening without harmful side effects. We offer teeth whitening treatments in our office and teeth whitening treatments for you to use at home.

FAQs

Q. Is whitening safe for teeth enamel?
A review of available studies indicates no evidence of harm to enamel based on our whitening protocol and gel application. Typically enamel problems are associated with acidic products notably sodas. Our gel is virtually PH neutral (6.5PH) and has Xylitol which neutralizes the bacteria which causes plaque.

Q. Will my teeth be sensitive?
A small percentage of people will have some sensitivity to our whitening product. Normally this dissipates within 10 minutes to two hours. Our process is designed to eliminate this to the greatest extent possible with up to 4 sessions over two days. Should you experience pain during your first session and need to stop the treatment, there is no charge you for the product. We also use potassium nitrate the same ingredient used in sensitivity toothpastes.

Q. What if I have Caps, Crowns, or Veneers?
All of these stain over time and become discoloured through normal eating and drinking. Our process will not harm any of these and will remove the stains that have accumulated over time.

Q. How long will it last?
Typical results vary based on a number of factors including genetics and lifestyle. While no two people are the same most people will want a single touch up session between 2 and 9 months. Depending on how often you whiten most people will only need one session to return to their whitest shade.

Q. What results can I expect?
A number of factors determine results including genetics and your starting shade. Almost all individuals depending on starting shade will see 2 to 5 shade improvement after the first session.

Q. How long before I can eat or drink after my treatment?
For the first 24 hours we recommend avoiding coffee, tea, cola, red wine, berries, or any foods that have the propensity to stain. Avoid consuming food and drink for 30 minutes after your session.
